HELP NEEDED:
SOCIAL MEDIA VOLUNTEER
If you or someone in your organization/family can help the club execute our social media, I would appreciate it! This person needs to have a keen knowledge of Facebook Pages so that they don't post personal content accidentally on our page. Also, if they can do a little graphic design, that would be a plus. Members of the board will help create a communication plan, but I desperately need someone to be our communications person. They only will need to post around once a week and as needed beyond that. Please reach out to me asap at katrock@gmail.com with candidates. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

TECHNOLOGY CHAIR
I need someone who can help the club assess the type of equipment we need to hold Hybrid meetings. I want the club to be able to hold in-person and virtual meetings together - but to do that we need a good portable web camera that can be turned to the person speaking, good audio so we can hear people speaking, and actual speakers so we can hear people on Zoom speaking and interact with our virtually tuned-in folks. Call me at 734-558-8555 or email me at katrock@gmail.com if you can help me with this task!

THINKING OF YOU
I am not going to share specifics here due to privacy, but there are several members of our club who are dealing with health issues, and some have members of their family that are also dealing with health complications, so if you can say a prayer or send some good vibes to our membership, please do so.

RECONNECT WITH EACH OTHER
Also, since we cannot see each other like we normally would.
I would love if you all could reach out to each other and keep me posted on how people are doing. Give someone a call, check on them. COVID has brought a lot of social isolation to many folks and we need to be here for each other in any way we can. I will try and start making calls to people I haven't heard from in a while, but it would be great if our members could do that as well.

September Updates!
by Kat Dooley, Club President
HI everyone! I hope you are all well! We are working on some exciting programs in the next couple months, so please be on the look out. Our website will be updated as soon as possible when we finalize a program, service project, or event. You can see the upcoming programs on the left in this newsletter as well!

Programs and Speakers
Speaking of programs, projects, and events, please feel free to give suggestions and ideas, as well as contact info to me and to my amazing program committee...I say committee because they are always there when I need help and are up to the task to serve the club. When you can, please take a moment to thank Kristina Schofer, Julie Farkas, and Colleen Burke! Thank you all for helping the club get our calendar booked out!

Programs for now will be over Zoom so as many people in and outside of the club can participate, and we will do Happy Hours in person, as well as most service projects will be in person. Please invite guests to attend our virtual programs, service projects, and happy hours. So stay tuned for more updates. We are working on a celebratory event for World Polio Day on October 24th. Stay tuned!

Happy Hour Chair
Anyone want to volunteer to be our chair of all things merry? Think of a monthly local places where we can gather, have some in-person fellowship in a safe environment, eat and have some fun! I want someone to take the lead! You just need to make calls and let me know the details. FYI: it doesn't have to be a Thursday night. It can be Friday, Saturday, what about a Sunday brunch? Call me at 734-558-8555 or email me at katrock@gmail.com

Dues
Well, we decided to run with Individual Dues for now which will be $500 for the year or $125 per quarter. Meals are no longer going to be included and it will be pay as you go. I am not sure when we will be able to meet in person like we used to, so we are going to assess this model after 6 months. There is more updates coming soon, but expect your quarterly invoices within the next several weeks.

As far as Corporate and Family tiers, the board and I need to make sure our by-laws are compliant. So for now, just keep paying as individuals. :)

9/11/2020 - Sedona Taphouse
We wish more could attend our outdoor happy hour, but it was a good kick-off. Thank you to Hugh Crawford for organizing it for us and thank you to everyone who attended! We will get more pics of everyone next time! But here are a couple I wanted to share.😁

YOUTH CHAIR UPDATE - Chair, Debbie Wertz
Interact Club at Novi HS had their first officer meeting and this week will be the first kick-off group meeting. There are plans to decorate and tie-dye masks for local hospital workers and in November since the veteran luncheon will be different this year, the group has decided to make cards and possibly candy bags for the veterans to be delivered with their lunch.
For The Love Of Rotary - Inspiration From Fellow Rotary Club of Novi Members
"I transferred into to Novi Rotary from the community I was in before. It has been my experience in running communities for the past 30 years that the best communities have generous voluntary groups, such as Rotary, where members help and serve at so many levels in areas that are outside the normal boundaries of local government services."
- Rotarian Pete Auger, City of Novi City Manager
