SAVE THE DATE - Novi Rotary Club Golf Outing
Meadowbrook Country Club
Oct 05, 2020

If you or someone in your organization/family can help the club execute our social media, I would appreciate it! This person needs to have a keen knowledge of Facebook Pages so that they don't post personal content accidentally on our page. Also, if they can do a little graphic design, that would be a plus. Members of the board will help create a communication plan, but I desperately need someone to be our communications person. They only will need to post around once a week and as needed beyond that. Please reach out to me asap at with candidates.

Reach out to your networks and get those foursomes and sponsors registered!
Here is the link to the brochure so you can see all the info! Printed versions will be done soon and the Novi Rotary golf website will be updated as well. Thank you to Rotarian Dave Staudt and Impact Media┬« for designing and printing our materials!
And huge thank you to the Golf Committee members (Event Chairs: Judge David Law, Hugh Crawford, and Ed Roney) who has been working hard ironing out all the details!
We already have some sponsors signed on. Except announcements on that soon!

Hi my wonderful Rotarians! I hope everyone is doing well. Still miss seeing all of you!
We just had our first
in-person (and virtual) hybrid meeting, as well as our first engagement for service day which was just picking up around Rotary Park (click the link to see pictures on FB). We did get some great feedback to consider for the future and a calendar will be coming soon so you know what service projects are in the queue each month. Reminder: you can also do service on your own as well if you cannot make a service meet-up. But please, report back to me or anyone on the board on what you did! I recommend doing at least

1 hour of service a month, but we know that a lot of you do waaaaay more than that! It's time to promote it! Tell us and we will track it! Whether it be Feed the Need, paying it forward for someone in the community, spreading positivity and kindness to those who need it, there are many ways to engage in service. We want to keep track of what we do!
We are working on some upcoming virtual programs so that all of our members can participate and engage. I know that it is still hard for a lot of members to get back into the cadence of meeting, and there is still a lot of unknowns for some when we meet in person. We are working on being an agile and adaptable club, so don't fret!
Novi Rotary is now on LinkedIn!
In order to engage with the business community more and network with professionals, we started a LinkedIn page! Follow us on that platform and feel free to share with your networks when relevant. (Like when we post about our Golf Outing!) Link:
DISTRICT 6380 Rotary100k Masks Initiative
At our last in-person/virtual hybrid club meeting at Rotary Park on August 6th, the members voted for the club to donate $100 towards this program. So far, our District has donated masks to local hospital systems like Ascension and University of Michigan Heath System, plus many more people on the frontline.

Here is the flyer. You can order Rotary masks for yourself, loved ones, or get custom masks made for your organization. The masks are made by women in India to help them become financially independent. This is an amazing project all around. More details can be found on the website:

Rotarians: Please reach out and let us know if your organization needs masks. I am specifically thinking our Novi Community School District might need some for their teachers and staff! Let me know as soon as possible what places you think are in need and how we can help.
Questions on Dues
The board is meeting again soon to finalize what we think will be a well-thought out adjustment to our current due structure (think price reduction). We want to act as fast as possible so we can present the board's decision to the club for ratification. I met with my committee, Rotarian Hugh Crawford and Rotarian Chris Schuler to go over details to present to our Club Board at an upcoming meeting. Even though the board can make the decision, it would mean the world to us to have the club ratify and support it. So that will be done at the next available club meeting. Did I say how much I love my board? Well, I am going to say it again! We have some AMAZING people working hard for our club and I am proud of every single member on it.
Upcoming Events/Programs
Aug 20 - No Meeting Unless Otherwise Notified
Aug 27th - Virtual Meeting - Working on a special guest.

We are finalizing the year's potential calendar. So stay tuned for more details.
Membership Committee Update
We are getting some interest from people to join the club. But I know we need to solidify our dues before we can make that happen and invite people again. A couple people are in the pipeline though and I hope we can get make you all proud to spread the word so we can get more people to join our team. Right now we are 46 members strong. I am hoping we can get reach 50 and beyond by the end of next June 2021. Chris Schuler is our current Chair, so reach out to him with questions!
Novi Rotary Foundation Update
We seriously don't talk enough about all the projects we help with! Here is a new one!

Back To School Rally - Backpack Prep!
Our Foundation just passed financial support for the Back to School Supplies Rally . It is a collaboration with Feed The Need and Parents of African American Students in Novi - PAASN, Northville Parents of African American Students -NPAAS and El Bethel Church- Redford Charter Township. There are a lot of students in our community and beyond that need help with supplies. We are so happy to help give resources to stuff those backpacks! You can sign up for service to help be part of the backpack assembly here (another service opportunity!):
For The Love Of Rotary - Inspiration From Fellow Rotary Club of Novi Members
"I was looking for an opportunity to become a part of a volunteer organization, did some research, and found Novi Rotary to be a great fit! I also happened to meet Tia Marie and a few other members randomly at a Sur La Table cooking class and that solidified my decision!"
